Lets adopt Sam Neill as an Aussie,
It can’t be too hard to achieve,
This is the time to calm New Zealand fears,
It’s not the time for them to leave.

We welcome all visitors to Australia,
Singers, actors and football players,
It adds to our genius,
When their talent comes to see us,
They notice we are very good payers.

When Pacific cuzzies started moving here,
They noticed Australia’s superior beer,
It boosted our sport,
and who would have thought,
They pay less gst while they’re here.

When the Kiwis won the America’s Cup,
Australian pride began to erupt,
There was an Aussie on that boat,
And everywhere else we hope,
Cause we’d never claim a sporting dope.

On a good day their cricketers flog the poms,
And at rugby the Kiwis are strong,
Just cause our footy is really slack,
We can never adopt an All Black,
But if we learn from them we can be strong.

Edmund Hillary, Errol Flynn, Russell Crowe, it doesn’t end,
Kate Ceberano is really a trier,
The talent we stockpile,
Gives Aussies some style,
Pushing our iq levels higher and higher.

We assure our friends, across the ditch,
This is not just a pointless pitch,
When you see the similarities,
Both nations gain clarity,
This adoption has nothing to do with charity.

Our best workers here are the Kiwis,
They never line up for any freebies,
Give immigration a shove,
Till Sam Neill feels the love,
The welcome mat fits like a glove.

Can we assure our friends, across the ditch,
This is no cheap commercial pitch,
Lets iron out the fine print,
Adopt Kiwis before we’re skint,
This borrowing should go without a hitch.
