QCWA GIN GIN Turns 100
A great celebration was held at Gin Gin Show Ground for the QCWA Gin Gin on the 7th September 2024.
The hall came alive in the colours of QCWA royal blue and silver, all surfaces decorated with trophies, achievements, publications, crafts and historical documents. The founding document proudly framed at the centre of display.
Gin Gin community came together to celebrate this wonderful occasion providing raffle prizes, entertainment and feast.
The live entertainment was gifted by a living legend Mr Chad Morgan, the oldest active recording and performing artist in the world. At near 92 years of age Mr Morgan jokingly noted that he nearly remembers the branch being born. His music brought back memories and filled the hall with cheerful sing-along.
Fine dining lunch was prepared and served by Paula’s Catering. The cake was cut by oldest present and past members together. All invited were dressed in decades frocks to symbolise each decade of the last century.
A fun and memorable day for all involved.
The ladies of Gin Gin QCWA want to thank: all who,over the past century, made their presence in Gin Gin possible, all those without whose support none of their work would be achievable, all those who through their support keep the good deeds of QCWA going and most of all, the ladies want to thank each other for their unending support and friendship for one another, for their resistance and togetherness, for sense of humour, patience and cooking and crafting abilities.
