Tucked away on Bourbong Street is a quiet achiever doing some seriously big-hearted work. Angels Second To None Op Shop has been in motion since 2024 on Bourbong Street and has become a hidden gem, not just for bargain hunters, but for the community members who rely on its support when life has knocked them flat.

Behind the racks of quality second-hand clothing and shelves of homewares is a powerful mission. Time and time again, Angels steps in for people who’ve experienced long-term homelessness or domestic violence, many arriving with absolutely nothing, sometimes with children in tow, having left in a hurry with only the clothes on their backs.

Using donated goods, the team pulls together beds, mattresses, bedding, cookware, clothing, toys and more, transforming empty houses into homes. A truck packed with love delivers these essentials directly to families starting over — offering not everything, but something. And that something makes all the difference.

This work is regular and driven entirely by community generosity. To keep this vital support going, Angels operates Angels Second 2 None Op Shop at 67 Bourbong Street. Where every purchase helps cover the real, everyday costs of community care — rent, fuel, truck maintenance, insurance, staff wages and electricity. Donations either go straight to families in need or are sold to fund the services that support them.

Space may be limited and the need ongoing, but the impact is huge. So next time you’re strolling Bourbong Street, pop into Angels Second To None. Their second-hand goods are helping create a way forward for someone.
