Coalfest 2024 was a huge success!
The Burrum Coal Discovery Festival took place on July 13, 2024, celebrating the rich coal history of Howard.
The event included a lively street parade where locals dressed in period costumes, bringing history to life. Attendees loved the cooking demonstrations, especially the camp kitchen that showed how food was prepared in the past.
Live entertainment kept everyone moving and there were sports activities for all ages. The Howard Museum displayed fascinating mining artifacts, with demonstrations of old equipment and traditional skills like rope making, blacksmithing, wood chopping, and wood carving.
Festival-goers enjoyed a variety of multicultural foods and explored arts and crafts, showcasing local talent. A big hit for kids was the little train ride, which brought smiles to everyone.
The Show and Shine featured amazing cars from local car clubs, thrilling auto enthusiasts.
