Food is more than just fuel, it brings people together, sparks conversations, and plays a huge role in how we feel every day. Whether it’s a quick breakfast on the run, a family dinner at the table, or a cuppa with friends, the choices we make around food matter. And learning how to make those choices well doesn’t have to be complicated or expensive.

That’s where B Mee Allied Health Services comes in.

B Mee Allied Health is a local business inspired by making a positive difference in people’s lives by providing practical resources, guidance, and support.

Their mission is simple but powerful: to empower individuals and communities with knowledge that supports better health and wellbeing.

Following the successful delivery of the Eat Smart Live Well nutrition program in Hervey Bay and Burrum Heads, B Mee Allied Health is excited to bring this FREE community program to Toogoom, Childers, and Howard in the new year.

What is the Eat Smart Live Well Program?

Led by local Accredited Practising Dietitians (APDs) from BMee Allied Health, the Eat Smart Live Well program includes four free community sessions designed to build confidence around everyday food choices through practical, evidence-based education.

Participants will learn about:

• Healthy eating advice and food label reading (yes, those tiny labels can actually make sense!)
• Eating well on a tight budget without sacrificing flavour or nutrition
• Managing chronic conditions through diet
• Healthy meal preparation for busy individuals and families

The sessions are relaxed, welcoming, and focused on real-life food — the kind you find at the supermarket, cook at home, and enjoy with others.

Who Is the Program For?

This program is ideal for:
• Individuals and families experiencing financial hardship
• People receiving income support
• Community members looking for practical, budget-friendly nutrition tips

It’s also a fantastic opportunity for anyone interested in improving their nutrition but who may not currently have the funding to see a dietitian one-on-one.
The group setting offers access to professional advice in a supportive, friendly environment — no judgement, just good food conversations.

A Few Extra Perks

• Free morning tea is provided at every session
• Participants who attend all four sessions will receive a starter kit to help put what they’ve learned into practice at home

Proudly Supported by Community Partners

The Eat Smart Live Well program is proudly sponsored by The Social Shift Institute, enabling these free nutrition sessions. B Mee Allied Health looks forward to continuing to share practical nutrition knowledge and empower communities to eat smart, live well, and enjoy food with confidence.
