Lightsabers clashed, superheroes assembled, anime characters escaped their screens and gaming legends came to life as Bundaberg Wide Bay Sugar Pop Con returned in June.
‘Bundy’s biggest annual pop culture event‘ once again transformed the region into a playground for fans of comics, movies, television, gaming, fantasy and everything in between.
Whether your childhood hero wore a cape, carried a blaster or fought evil after school, chances are they were spotted somewhere in the crowd.
Cosplayers, collectors, artists and fans turned out in force, proving that pop culture isn’t just something we watch—it’s something we live.
From painstakingly crafted costumes to obscure fandom references, the event was a celebration of creativity, nostalgia and unapologetic geekiness.
To be honest, there were far too many incredible costumes and characters to describe in words. This is one of those occasions where the photos tell the story far better than we ever could.

The Fraser Pop Culture Festival will take over Kent Street, Maryborough, on July 18 and 19.
Hosted by Maryborough State School, the event promises a multiverse of cosplay, games, competitions, authors, artists, food vendors, retail stalls and special guests.

The legendary Cosplay Repair Guild will once again be standing by to save the day.
Riverbend Medieval will also be attending as a vendor between 9am and 3pm for those looking to add a little medieval flair to their collection.
Entry is just a gold coin donation, making it one of the cheapest portals to another universe you’ll find all year.
