Bundaberg’s Motocross Spirit Stronger Than Ever

Clinton Moore

Bundaberg’s motocross community is celebrating a historic moment thanks to local rider Clinton Moore, who recently landed a world-first 720 trick after more than 15 years of practice, persistence, and hard work. The two-rotation move has long been considered one of the most difficult feats in freestyle motocross, with many riders believing it simply couldn’t be done.

The ABC reported on Moore’s achievement, highlighting just how significant this milestone is for him personally. For Moore, landing the trick was more than a sporting accomplishment — it represented a huge “weight off” his shoulders, a goal he had carried with him throughout most of his professional career. What made the feat even more meaningful was where he achieved it. Moore completed the 720 on his parents’ property in Bundaberg, the very place where he grew up, learned to ride motorbikes, and first fell in love with the sport. Pulling off a world-first trick on the soil that shaped him marks a full-circle moment and one of the greatest successes of his life.

While Moore’s world-first 720 is turning heads globally, here in Bundaberg it also serves as a powerful reminder of the strength, passion, and support of the local motocross community that helped shape him.

At the heart of Bundaberg’s motocross scene is the Rum City Motorcycle Club, which has supported riders in the area for many years. Based at Bingera Weir Road, Bingera, the club has steadily expanded its facilities to provide a safe and high-quality environment for local motocross enthusiasts to develop their skills.

The club’s track is fully maintained and offers on-site food and drink options, toilets, water access, and a welcoming community atmosphere. These amenities make Rum City MCC a vital home ground for young riders starting out, as well as experienced competitors looking to sharpen their technique.

Supporting the local scene further is the Bundaberg Motorcycle Centre, a long-standing dealership catering to off-road motorbike enthusiasts. The centre offers a full range of bikes suitable for junior riders and seasoned motocross families alike. Located at 5 Woongarra Street, the showroom also stocks a complete range of accessories, from helmets to riding gear. Families interested in starting out can visit the centre or call (07) 4152 5107 for guidance.

For many in Bundaberg, motocross is more than just a sport — it’s a lifestyle that fosters confidence, family bonding, and lifelong memories. Dirt-bike adventures provide a way to explore the outdoors, challenge oneself, and share unforgettable experiences with loved ones.

If you enjoy spontaneous rides, the local Facebook group Bundaberg Adventure Riding & Surrounding Areas QLD is the perfect place to find your next motocross adventure. Members share their favourite riding spots across the region, including Fraser Island, Woodgate, Voss Road, Pine Creek, Goodwood, and many more.

Together, these clubs, businesses, and passionate riders make Bundaberg a true hub for motocross in the region. From world-class achievements like Clinton Moore’s 720 to weekend rides with family and friends, the local motocross community continues to grow, thrive, and inspire.
